Skills Development for e-Learning Content

We understand that in order for the e-learning content used on the learning management system to evolve and grow with the curriculum and technology requirements. To ensure that the Department teams are ready and competent to take on the e-Learning material development, we have become professional skills development for eLearning practitioners.

We support a blended approach to reaching learning outcomes. By using a wide variety of cutting edge technologies, we help the Education Department design courses that are aligned across all standards, and are designed to transfer knowledge, train behaviour, and instil values in an enjoyable and memorable way. We aim to make the courses relevant, varied and always engaging.

e-Learning Content Development Phases

Analysis and Curriculum Design
The education curriculum team will work with the instructional designers to do the analysis and design of the learning curriculum for the various grades and subjects. It is done with the assistance and inputs from all levels within the Education Department.

Part of this phase will be to identify and / or source existing e-Learning material. This will go through a standardisation and governance alignment process to ensure that it meets the standards defined by the Education Department

Content Development
The new content is developed before being reviewed by subject matter experts and design authority. Existing content will be reviewed and aligned with the standards and best practices that have been defined by the Department.

Storyboard Development
A storyboard is usually a PowerPoint version of the content that will be developed into eLearning material. The content provided and approved by the Education Department’s curriculum subject matter experts, is restructured into a storyboard. Once the storyboard is approved, it will be converted to e-Learning content.

Programme Development and Delivery
Graphic designers and developers convert storyboards into interactive content. The content developers will always include team members from the Education Department, and as the proficiency of these members grow, the members required from our team will decrease.

This phase will always be an iterative phase where improvements and evolving of the e-Learning material will continue as the tools and skills grow

Often the e-Learning content is required in multiple languages. To achieve this, an english version of the programme is provided to translators for translation.

This phase will ensure that the e-Learning content is effective in its purpose. Ideally, learner response should be tested in targeted pilot groups. During this pilot phase, the following aspects are tested and evaluated:

-   Relevance of the content and programme objectives.

-   Programme activities match the learner level, are interesting, aid learning and promote the achievement of the programme outcomes and, stretch learner ability enough to keep them motivated. Courseware adjustments are implemented based on the outcome of the pilot phase and client guidelines, before the final deployment version is approved and handed over.
